Summary
This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless and impactful advertiser experience from the time an insertion order is signed through campaign completion. This role combines client-facing responsibilities with technical execution and strategic insight, bridging the gap between sales, operations, and the advertiser to deliver measurable success. The Campaign Success Specialist also aids the sales team with building strategic campaign proposals that align with expressed advertiser goals, and providing ongoing technical and strategy support in closing deals.
This role reports to the Senior Manager of Ad Operations, and takes direction from the VP of Product Operations and VP of Member Services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Client Onboarding & Asset Management
Serve as the advertiser’s primary post-sales contact, ensuring campaigns launch smoothly and on schedule.
- Act as the central point of contact for advertisers once campaigns are sold.
- Collect, validate, and quality-check creative assets and tracking links.
- Communicate requirements clearly, including deadlines, specifications, and platform guidelines.
- Organize and maintain outreach follow-up across order workload to consistently meet artwork deadlines based on varying target order start dates.
- Anticipate and address common issues with creative formats, tags, and placements before launch.
- Provide proactive best-practice guidance to advertisers to maximize campaign effectiveness.
- Partner with internal teams (sales, design, editorial, print production) as needed to coordinate fulfillment.
Campaign Setup & Optimization
Own the technical build, trafficking, and optimization of campaigns across channels, ensuring accuracy and performance.
- Set up and traffic campaigns across ad servers, programmatic platforms, and internal systems.
- Confirm targeting parameters, budget allocations, and flight dates are implemented accurately and on time.
- Monitor campaign pacing and delivery to ensure objectives are met.
- Identify optimization opportunities during campaign flight (creative rotation, targeting refinements, pacing adjustments).
- Troubleshoot campaign and ad serving issues through regular report monitoring and surfacing issues to IT support and ad serving partners.
- Assist with conducting ad error investigations for print, online and/or programmatic orders, including diagnosing issues with supporting departments and communicating resolution and quality assurance steps to key stakeholders.
- Maintain detailed and accurate campaign documentation for transparency and reporting.
Sales Enablement & Performance Reporting
Deliver data-driven insights and recommendations that strengthen advertiser relationships and support campaign proposals and renewals.
- Leverage advertising platform and AI research tools to put together go-to-market campaign proposals for programmatic and lead gen opportunities.
- Create clear, insightful tactical strategies tailored to advertisers’ goals and KPIs.
- Pull and analyze campaign performance data from ad servers and reporting platforms, providing interpretation of campaign results, highlighting successes, optimizations and areas of improvement.
- Share actionable recommendations based on reporting insights to improve campaign outcomes and maximize ROI.
- Collaborate with sales to position renewals, upsells, and cross-channel opportunities.
- Proactively contribute to increasing advertiser satisfaction, retention, and long-term revenue growth.
Qualifications & Skills
- Post secondary education in Sales or Business Administration.
- 2+ years of experience in digital advertising, ad operations, or campaign management (print or programmatic experience a plus).
- Strong technical skills with ad serving platforms (e.g., Google Ad Manager, DSPs) and campaign trafficking.
- Comfort with reporting and analytics tools (Excel, Google Sheets, Looker, or equivalent).
- Experience with leveraging AI tools to amplify and expedite daily work output (including operational tracking and internal/external communications).
